AQUABOT FAQ’s

Will the Aquabot clean the walls of my pool?

All models from the Bravo upwards (when placed on the floor and wall programme) will climb the walls of the swimming pool every 1 in 4 times. This enables the pool cleaner to spend the majority of it’s time on the floor which is the area where most of the dirt settles.

The majority of dirt/debris in a swimming pool will sink to the bottom of the pool. If the automatic/robotic pool cleaner were to climb the walls everytime it reached them it would spend an unnecessary amount of time cleaning the walls and consequently wouldn’t clean the floor of the pool thoroughly within the cleaning time. The cleaning cycle would therefore be much longer and the pool would be no cleaner at the end of it.. Aquabot automatic/robotic pool cleaners have been expertly designed to cover the entire pool floor during cleaning while also climbing the wall to gain that extra coverage. Will the Aquabot clean the steps in my pool?

Yes, the Aquabot automatic/robotic pool cleaners should clean most steps, but this does depend on the depth and height of the steps. If you find your Aquabot is struggling to climb your steps, simply brush any dirt and debris from the steps into the pool prior to putting the pool cleaner in the swimming pool.

My swimming pool has two sets of metal steps, will the pool cleaner clean round them?

Yes, the pool cleaner will clean up to or around metal steps. If the pool cleaner does get lodged against the steps it will reverse out after about 2 minutes and continue with it’s cleaning.

What’s the box sat next to the Aquabot automatic/robotic pool cleaner shown in some pictures on the website?

It is the power supply/transformer.
The Aquabot automatic/robotic pool cleaners plug into this power supply/transformer, which then plugs into a mains socket.

Is it safe to have electricity in water with the Aquabot pool cleaners?

Yes - the transformer takes the voltage down to low voltage (12V or 24V depending on the pool cleaner model - residential or commercial), so it is perfectly safe.

Can the Aquabot pool cleaners be left in the water unsupervised?

Yes, the automatic pool cleaners are designed to be used unsupervised. The Aquabots even turn themselves off when they have finished cleaning and then just need lifting out of the water.

How do I get the pool cleaner out of the pool when it’s finished it’s cycle?

The Aquabot pool cleaners can be pulled gently across the water, as the cable is clamped securely into the cleaner. When you have pulled the pool cleaner to the side of the pool, the Aquabot can be lifted out of the swimming pool by it’s handle.

Can I use my Aquabot automatic/robotic pool cleaner while people are swimming in the pool?

No, we recommend that the automatic/robotic pool cleaners are used when the pool is empty and has no swimmers swimming.

Do the Aquabot pool cleaners collect leaves?

Yes, the automatic/robotic pool cleaners have been specifically designed to collect leaves.
Leaves are collected to the on-board filter bag which the needs emptying and throughly rinsing after each use.

How long will an Aquabot pool cleaner take to clean my pool?

The Aquabot Pool Rover & Aquabot Neptuno’s cleaning cycle is approx 2 - 2.5 hours.
The Aquabot Bravo & Aquabot Viva automatic pool cleaners clean in approx 1- 1.5 hours (or the Viva also has a 3 hour cycle option).
The commercial Aquabots (Magnum & Ultramax) have different cleaning programmes which take either 3 hours or 5 hours.

Do the Aquabot pool cleaners need servicing?

No, the Aquabot machines do not need servicing. If you look after your pool cleaner it shouldn’t need servicing, but unfortunately some machines are abused either with heavy use or misuse and will therefore need occasional servicing. Some customers like to have their machines serviced for piece of mind, as it can often save machine breakdowns - potential problems can be seen before they occur and are avoided.

How does the automatic/robotic pool cleaner stick to the walls of the swimming pool?

The Aquabot automatic/robotic pool cleaners stick to the wall by suction.
The very powerful pump motor enables the pool cleaner to climb the swimming pool walls.

Do the Aquabot pool cleaners work in liner swimming pools?

Yes, the majority of Aquabot pool cleaners are used in swimming pools with liners. The automatic/robotic pool cleaners can be used in pools with all different surfaces such as; tiled swimming pools, fibre glass swimming pools, liner swimming pools etc.

My pool has sloping sides half way down the walls where the walls meet the floor - can the Aquabot pool cleaners clean these slopes?

Yes, the Aquabots have no trouble cleaning these slopes. The Pool Rover/Neptuno pool cleaners (the models that clean the floor only) will climb to the top of the slope and then reverse before they go up the wall. The rest of the pool cleaners from our Aquabot range would simply climb the slope and then continue up the walls.

Will it cause a problem if I stop the automatic pool cleaner mid-cycle?

No, if you stop the machine mid-cycle - it will simply start it’s cycle again when you next use the pool cleaner.

Do you do demonstrations of the Aquabot automatic pool cleaners?

We offer FREE demonstrations of the commercial range of automatic pool cleaners.
We are not able to offer demonstrations of the residential range of automatic pool cleaners (unless we have someone specifically in your area and can ‘drop in’) - but you can see an Aquabot Bravo in action in our online demonstration video.

Can I put the filter bag in the washing machine?

Yes, the Aquabot filter bags can be put in the washing machine, but they must be put on a cold wash and no washing detergent should be used.

Can I buy a spare filter bag? - “One to wash one to wear”

Yes, we sell filter bags as spare parts, please contact us for prices or to order .

I have seen other UK websites on the internet selling Aquabots - are they UK agents too?

We are the only official UK agents for Aquabot which means that the machines we sell are the only official UK specification machines. Aquabots sold on other websites are not UK specification, which means that the warranty is not held with ourselves - the UK agents. Should you experience a problem with these machines they will have to be sent away (via the middle man) for repair leaving you without a pool cleaner for many weeks/months.

We carry out all warranty work on machines we sell. Our engineers are factory trained and we keep all current model spare parts in stock as well as many older machine (back to 2001) parts too, meaning that in the unlikely event that you experience a problem with your Aquabot, you can send your machine straight back to us for a fast and efficient repair.

Please also be aware that on other websites, the delivery and VAT is not always included, meaning that a price that may appear cheaper than ours can often end up costing far more.

How often do I have to clean the filter bag?

The filter bag needs cleaning after every use. The filter bag is 2 micron and therefore filters dirt and debris tha can often not even be seen by the naked eye. This very fine dirt can clog up the “pores” of the bag reducing the Aquabots performance.

How often will I need to use the Aquabot?

The Aquabot can be used as often as you require. If you pool is very dirty, the Aquabot may initially need using several times in a short period of time to get the pool up to a clean standard. Once you are on top of the cleaning of your pool, the Aquabot should only need using approx. once a week.

My pool is green and has algae - will the Aquabot clean this?

No, if your pool water is green and you have algae, there is normally a problem with your pool’s water chemistry. As a general rule, the Aquabot should never be put in a pool that you wouldn’t put yourself in. i.e. if the pool is filthy to the extent where you wouldn’t even want to dip your toe in the pool, then the Aquabot shouldn’t be expected to clean it.

The Aquabot is designed to collect leaves, hair and other debris from the bottom of the pool and will also filter the water as it operates, but it cannot be expected to turn green water clear, this is a job for pool chemicals.

How do I access hard to reach areas in the deep end of the swimming pool with the Pool Buster?

Simply attach a standard telscopic pool pole to the Pool Buster and place the Pool Buster into the area that you require cleaning.

Can I call you?

Of course, we are at the end of the phone during office hours and most Saturday mornings. We don’t have an irritating automated phone system - a human being actually answers the phone! We are family run and believe in personal service - call us with any question you have.

Why can’t I order online?

Call us old fashioned, but we like to speak to our customers.
We like to speak to our customers prior to delivery to make sure they are buying the right product for the job.

Do you sell to Europe?

Yes, we can send our products all over the world should you require. Although, we do ask for payment by bank transfer or UK credit card for all orders outside of the UK. Please see our delivery costs page for approximate prices.

Do your prices include VAT?

Yes, all of our prices online include VAT unless clearly stated otherwise (for example on the commercial pool cleaners and the automatic pool cleaner hire pages - as machines are generally for commercial use by swuimming pool companies who can claim back the VAT).

Do your prices include delivery?

Yes, all of our prices include delivery to mainland England & Wales.
